Missing the Mill

During the first couple of weeks in April, one of my favorite places to photograph in April is the Old Mill in North Little Rock.  The vibrant colors of the surrounding landscape are simply amazing. If you get there early in the morning, the peace and tranquility is, well, peaceful and tranquil.  Add in the soft diffused lighting of a cloudy morning and you have all the makings of an incredible photo opportunity.

I had planned on taking a trip to the mill this past weekend.  After working from home for the last three weeks, I was excitedly looking forward to the excursion.  But, as a famous military saying goes, no plan survives first contact with the enemy. In this case, the enemy is covid-19, which caused the city to close the mill to the public.

So, in honor of the Missed Mill Trip of 2020, I pulled together some of my favorite Old Mill pictures as a reminder of the mill’s April beauty.
