About Bob

Since I was a young child running around with my parents’ old Kodak Instamatic camera, photography has been my hobby.  I enjoy it immensely.  But, as much as photography excites me, I am just as thrilled to share my experiences with others through both my pictures and my writing.

When I first started with photography, I shot landscapes exclusively, and I still make a lot of landscape and nature images. However, as time has gone on and I have studied the works of other photographers, such as Jim Zuckerman, Art Wolfe, John Shaw, and the late Galen Rowell, I have found my photographic interests expanding beyond just landscapes.  I now find myself just as likely to photograph an interesting old building or a random abstract pattern as I would a landscape.

I used to think photography was only about capturing the photo. What I have learned over the years is that photography isn’t about the final image so much as it is about the journey. What an incredible journey it has been, and what an incredible journey it continues to be.
